TRAINER BUYING GUIDE
How to find and check a trainer SKU
Two pairs can look identical in photos but still be different releases, colourways or age versions. The product SKU is the fastest way to check.
What is a trainer SKU?
A SKU—often called a style code, article number or product code—is the identifying code attached to a particular trainer model and colourway. For example, the New Balance ABZORB 2010 in Timberwolf/Turtledove uses U201079X.
Where to find it
- Retailer page: look under product details, style code or product code.
- Brand website: the code is often in the URL or specifications.
- Shoe label: inspect the size label stitched inside the tongue or lining.
- Box label: check beside the size and barcode.
How to compare two listings
Match the complete SKU character for character. Then confirm the full model name, colourway and whether it is the men's, women's, junior or unisex version. Finally, check that your UK size is actually in stock.
Common mistakes
Do not rely on a similar photo, a shortened colour name or the silhouette alone. Retailers may photograph products under different lighting, and the same model can have several near-identical releases.
Before checking out
Compare delivery charges, return costs and discount-code conditions. A lower product price is useful, but the delivered total is the number that affects your bank balance.
